The body of an 80-year old woman washed ashore at the Abeliakope beach, near Aflao on March 7, this year, has been identified as Korkor Equagoo.
Family sources told the Police after identifying her body at the morgue that Korkor had been talking of ending her life, as she was tired of living.
Mr Daniel Dzam-Tse, Aflao Police District Crime Officer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Police had reports of a female body washed ashore at about 0700 hours that day.
He said Police picked up the body and deposited at the Ketu-South District morgue at Aflao for autopsy.
Mr Dzam-Tse said shortly after the body was deposited at the morgue, a family member came seeking to see the body as their relative had gone missing.
He said Police led them to the morgue where they identified the body to be that of their relative and that they had been looking for her.
Mr Dzam-Tse said the family claimed Equagoo got up at around 0400 hours to empty her chamber pot of urine outside their Denu beach residence and did not return.
