Bole (N/R), Aug. 19, GNA - Mr Saaka Akati, Member of Parliament for Bole/Bamboi Constituency, has renovated one of the abandoned wards of the Bole District Hospital at the cost of GH¢60,000 to be used as the children's ward.

The MP, who used part of his National Insurance Health Fund for the renovation works, came to the assistance of the hospital upon a request by Dr Josephat Nyuzaghl, the only medical doctor at the hospital to help to ease congestion in some of the wards.

Mr Akati also used part of the MPs share of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to construct a three-unit classroom block at a cost of GH¢60,000 for the Saint Kisito primary 93A" school at Bole.

The MP, who took some newsmen around to inspect the progress of work on the projects in Bole on Thursday, said he was touched by the poor conditions in which patients, especially children admitted at the hospital were laying on the bare floor and therefore decided to intervene to ease their sufferings.

He said he was also moved by the congestion in the classrooms at the saint Kisito Primary and therefore used part of his GETfund to help the school to improve upon teaching and learning.

Dr Nyuzaghl also appealed to the MP to assist the hospital with an ambulance and said last year because the hospital did not have one, five people lost their lives.
