Boreholes inaugurated at Sankro

Winneba (C/R), March 22, GNA-Three boreholes fitted with hand pumps constructed by the Coast for Christ Ministry Church of Baptist Convention, Ghana at the cost of 15,000 US dollars for residents of Sankro, suburb of Winneba was on Friday inaugurated. The Reverend Edward John Enim in-charge of Church at Sankro said the project was jointly sponsored by some sister churches in the US. He said the project was the Church's contribution towards the improvement of the social life of the people and also to supplement Government's efforts at solving water problems facing the people. Rev. Enim commended the community for their contribution towards the success of the project and urged them to manage it well to prolong its life span.

Enim, the Church had also established Hospital and Vocational Centre in the area to train the youth to acquire skills. Mr Nii Ephraim, immediate past Effutu constituency Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC), inaugurating the project on behalf of Mr. Mike Hammah Member of Parliament for the area and Minister for Transport expressed gratitude to the Church and the sponsors of the project. He advised the people to ensure regular maintenance of the facilities to benefit them. On behalf of the MP, he donated a cash of 100 Ghana Cedis to the community as seed fund towards the maintenance of the project. Nana Kojo Tetteh, Chief of Sankro also thanked the church for the project which would provide them with good drinking water.
