The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome-Freho, Kwame Adarkwah, has charged its members to assist revenue collectors in their various electoral areas to help the assembly meet its revenue targets.

His concern follows the assembly’s poor performance in the collection of internally generated funds (IGF) in the third quarter of this year.

The DCE noted that the assembly members have been trained to assist in the mobilisation of revenue, yet they had not been able to help in that regard.

According to him, a number of steps had also been taken to maximise revenue collection, including intensive public education and a deadline given to tax payers to honour their tax obligations or face the law, among others, to boost revenue collection, especially, in the area of property rates.

The DCE reminded both the revenue collectors and assembly members of the need to rake in more IGF, first, for accelerated development, and the assembly’s recurrent expenditure, adding that it is also important to aid in their FOAT assessments.

Kwame Adarkwah announced that office accommodation would be constructed for the police command in the district, and some health facilities would also be rehabilitated to give them face lift.

He, therefore, called for concerted efforts from the citizenry and authorities towards ensuring the total development of the district.
