Breman Fankyeneko to get school building

A land handing over ceremony for the construction of a 6-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities was held at Breman Fankyeneko in the Central Region.

The project, funded by the GETFUND, is estimated at GH¢200,000.00 and its expected to be completed by the contractor, Francis Antwi Poku Ventures, within a period of 8 months.

Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) District Chief Executive (DCE) handed over the site to the contractor in the presence of the chief of the town, Nana Adom Owusu and his elders, the consultant of the project and some staff of the AOB Assembly.

The DCE commended the chief and the elders for releasing the land free of charge towards the construction of the school building and also thanked the Member of Parliament for the area, Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, through whose initiative the project was sponsored by the GETFUND.

Mr. Botchway urged the people to forge ahead and stand up to the challenges by contributing their quota towards the growth and development of the area.

He said after the completion of the project, children from the communities in the area, namely, Akroma, Adzebyewodze, Bekooasi, Bondzewa and Esunkwa would use the school facility.

He appealed to the people to cooperate with the contractor to enable him to complete the work on schedule.

The chief of Fankyeneko, Nana Owusu, thanked the government for funding the educational sector and creating a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning, despite the economic challenges facing the country.

He promised that they would contribute their quota when the need arises for the project to be completed on time.

The chief used the occasion to invite investors to the area with a promise of the availability of land.
