Members of the Breman Citizens Association in London on Monday presented medical consumables valued at 4,000 pounds to the Breman Brakwa Health Centre.

The items included disinfectants, sterilizers, cabinets, uniforms and T-shirts. Mr Alex Amoadzie, Chairman of the Association who made the presentation, said the donation formed part of their social and humanitarian activities to help enhance health care delivery in the area.

According to the Chairman, two health personnel from the Rentokic Initial Memorial Hospital in the United Kingdom, Ms. Angie Greene, General Manager and Mr. Jonathan Green, Operation Manager, sponsored the shipment of the items to the country.

He said beds for the Brakwa Health Centre were on the high seas and would early next year.

Mr. Amoadzie, staff at the Rentokic Memorial Hospital, said in 2005, the Association made a similar contribution costing 5,000 pounds to the Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma and also donated teaching and learning materials to the District Education Directorate at Breman Asikuma.

Mr. Adom Botchway, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Chief Executive, Nana Kobina Yamoah IV, the Paramount Chief of Breman Brakwa and Mr. Justice Obeng Nyarko from the District Directorate of Health Service jointly received the items.

Mr. Botchway expressed his appreciation to the Association for its support to supplement government’s efforts at improving health care in the area.
