Brifoh Chief and elders enlightened on customary land issues

Brifoh (U/W), Dec. 23, GNA - Naa Naabomo Ganda IV, Chief of the Brif= oh community in the Lawra District, has called on land development experts i= n the Upper West Region to give his community a good plan to prevent people=

from building haphazardly. He said for every community to develop properly, there was the need to give it a good plan so that people could develop the land according to th= e official plan.

Naa Naabomo Ganda was speaking at a ceremony organised by the Land Agencies at Brifoh to explain customary land issues under the new land administration law to chiefs and elders of the Brifoh community. He said some communities were faced with some development challenges= as a result of the haphazard way of building and attributed it to poor town planning system. He said the Brifoh community had vast and there was therefore the ne= ed to plan the land properly for future development. The chief also urged the land development experts to demarcate all t= he traditional land boundaries and also come out with a land map of the community to prevent other people from taking away their land. Naa Ganda noted that it was his vision to develop the community into= an enviable one to attract investors and other development organisations. Mr. David M. pertaining to customary land issues.

He called for the preparation of a layout to ensure an easy developm= ent control of the area. Mr Deribaa assured the chief and people that his outfit would soon embark on allodia boundary demarcation of the area to solve boundary disputes. 23 Dec 09
