British volunteers help renovate Kindergarten

Akrofu-Agove, (V/R) July 5, GNA- Ten volunteers from 'Madventure,' a British Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) specializing in linking up young British professionals and students to selected communities and organizations in Ghana for short study stays, are helping the Akrofu-Agove community in the Ho Municipality renovate its kindergarten. The Volunteers are being helped by local artisans on the job, which involves, re-roofing and repair of the floor and would take five weeks to complete.

During the period, the volunteers would also help the local instructors teach the children in the school. Hannah Pratt, Leader of the Volunteers said at a brief ceremony before constructional work commenced that her team would become part of the community and "learn from them".

She said after the renovations the building was expected to remain strong for another 50 years.

Mr. Frank-Joe Ewulla, Headmaster of the local Junior Secondary School, said he was excited by the presence of the Volunteers, noting, "as and when the need arises, it will be good to have the volunteers to help in our community".
