Brong- Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs meet

Sunyani (B/A) Nov. 12, GNA- Nana Kwadwo Seinti, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has appealed to chiefs in the Region to forge a united front to enhance development.

He explained that chieftaincy disputes had been the major factor retarding the progress of the region.

Nana Seinti made the appeal during a meeting of the Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani, to round off the activities for the year. Litigations he said had polarized a number of communities and urged the chiefs to channel their resources into ventures that would make positive impact on the people.

"Protracted disputes do not benefit any body as in the end, there would be neither victors nor vanquished," Nana Seinti said. Speaking on Election 2004, He asked Ghanaians to renew the mandate of the New Patriotic Party, to continue with the projects and policies of the ruling party.

Nana Seinti appealed to the chiefs to ensure political tolerance to facilitate the success of the December 7 polls.

Nana Kwadwo Nyarko, the Omanhene (Paramount chief) of the Prang Traditional Area and the out-going President of the House, appealed to the chiefs to educate their subjects to be law abiding and tolerant, to ensure incident- free Presidential and Parliamentary elections. "We must all realize that the international community may not hesitate to withdraw support... for the needed development of our country should the elections be assessed as a complete failure." The House elected Nana Agyemang Kodom V, the Omanhene of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, unopposed as the new president.
