Accra, Jan. 3 GNA - The Builders club, a non political organisation at the week-end held its annual get together party with a call on members to be creative, innovative and businesslike to help Ghana become a wealthy country.

Mrs. Rebecca Godsay Simpson, an Educationist, who made call said, during this threshold of the new year, members should take stock and adopt a new resolution which would propel them, the club and the nation to an enviable height.

In this direction, Mrs Simpson urged the members to eschew tribalism, nepotism, but to forge a common goal as a family. "Let us put our hands, soul and heart on our businesses and to do our work well to help Ghana come out of the woods." Mrs Simpson said God never created Ghanaians to be poor but because of inadequate innovation, and creativity many people find themselves on the poverty line, adding, "God abhor laziness and laziness twin sister is poverty".

She therefore, urged the club members, who are businessmen and government employees to always be creative and find something to do with their hands for the betterment of the nation.

Mrs Simpson said pension is not an end of the road but rather a change of work or events and therefore, entreat all pensioners not to sit down idle and fold their arms, but rather to try as much as possible to have something beneficial doing to supplement their monthly earnings.

Ealier, Mr Benjamin Asamoah, Secretary of the Club said the Club, with the motto, "Together we build," was formed in 1999 with four member, now had a membership of 32.

The Club, which will officially be inaugurated in March this year, has, among others, the objectives of building a good home, becoming a reliable friend to the destitute and the disadvantage children in society

It will also promote friendship and a reliable family for all members and society.

He said the club will also organise clean-up campaigns, educational sensitisation of the public on how to keep the environment clean and travellers and pedestrians not to litter the streets. Mr Martin Abban, Chairman of the Club, assisted by Mrs Simpson presented prizes to deserving members.
