...Headmaster Confesses
...BNI Finds School Girl On Bursar's Bed

The main alley of this beautiful school in the Eastern Region spots the statue of St. Martin known for his anti-corruption stance in a fixed posture of prayer and meditation. In a chapel nearby pews of immaculately dressed students and teachers absorbed in meditation, all worldly cares banished in favour of the spirit and soul to a liturgy of prayer, incantations, rosaries holy communion at the Catholic-owned St. Martin?s Secondary School in Nsawam (Aduagyiri).

After an hour?s wait, these academic and religious faithfuls file out in an orderly manner from the chapel displaying remarkable discipline, their body language and general conduct betraying a deep immersion in Catholic Christian moral values.

Yet one person?s show of piety is nothing but falsehood before the Lord. Mr. Nicholas Amegah the Bursar of the school has milked the school?s kitty dry while the school?s headmaster GSY Atidigah looked on.

For the past one and half years Mr. Nicholas Amegah has been diverting the school?s cash to cater for his personal comfort while the students continued to face one academic problem after another.

While this reporter was investigating the story, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) were all tailing the ?good Samaritan? Bursar.

The (BNI) busted the bursar a day after The Weekend Crusading GUIDE had visited the school premises.

The Police Chief at Nsawam, DSP Mayern, told this reporter that the BNI undertook the operation without any input from the police.

When Nicholas Amegah was busted he requested from the two BNI personnel that he wanted to talk to his headmaster and the District Chief Executive for the area (Akuapim South), Andrew Nyarko Adu.

Instead of the BNI staff taking him straight to the police station, they took him to the headmaster?s house and later the DCE?s house.

At the DCE?s house Mr. Nicholas Amegah is said to have taken to his heels leaving the BNI officials.

The DCE has told The Weekend Crusading GUIDE that he was not a party to the bursar?s escape adding that he would give more details on the issue later.

After Nicholas? escape the BNI rather went and nabbed one innocent Lily Afrifa a hairdresser at Adoagyiri accusing her of being an accomplice.

Speaking to The Weekend Crusading GUIDE Lily said that the action of the BNI was strange ?I did not understand the BNI, because that man (Nicholas) is just a friend. The fact that he has entered my kiosk cannot mean I am an accomplice.

I know nothing about the money matter. If the police strongly felt that I was an accomplice why did they not search me?, Lily said.

The headmaster confessed that he had been told by a team of auditors that over ?500 million had disappeared from the school kitty.

?I am innocent please, it is the bursar. I was shocked when I heard that. Anytime I ask him to render accounts he tells me stories, anytime I ask to let me go through the books, he says something different. He knows he is guilty that is why he has run away?, said the headmaster. Asked why he looked on for over one and half years for such a fraud to take place he said, ?I never thought he could do that, so when I realized he was being funny. I wrote a query to him?, the St. Martins Secondary School headmaster said.

Students told The Weekend Crusading GUIDE reporter in confidence that they were not supplied with the right text books.

?Though the headmaster said refunds would be made, we have still not been given any money?, said one of the students.

Meanwhile in Adoagyiri town Mr. Nicholas Amegah is known for showering lavish gifts on girls. When the BNI searched his house an amount of 9 million cedis, was found. Reports also said a young beautiful girl was found on his bed who was later released.

Some of the money missing from school kitty is widely believed to have been used by Nicholas to sponsor those girls.
