C/R Minister urges queen mums to help settle chieftaincy disputes

Cape Coast, Feb. 28, GNA - The Central Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze, on Monday urged queenmothers in the region to help settle chieftaincy disputes in their areas to accelerate the socio-economic development of the Region. The queens, he said, should in addition promote girls' education by sensitising their communities about the importance of educating girls, to enhance the empowerment of women.

Mr Edumadze, who is also the MP for the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam made the call when members of the Association of Queenmothers from his constituency paid a courtesy call on him at the Residency in Cape Coast. The 31 queenmothers, who were led by their chairperson Nana Badu I, queenmother of Enyan-Abowinmu, were at the Residency, to congratulate Mr Edumadze on his re-appointment.

The Regional Minister also tasked them to endeavour to maintain their "newly found unity", to facilitate the attainment of the objectives of the Association.
