Begoro (E/R), Feb. 18, GNA - The Sunkwa Mutual Health Organisation, a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) at Begoro in the Fanteakwa District, has instituted a health insurance scheme for its members. The chairman of the organization, Mr Kwaku Antwi, told the Ghana News Agency at Begoro on Wednesday, that the CBO took the initiative in response to the government's call for public patronage of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Begoro (E/R), Feb. 18, GNA - The Sunkwa Mutual Health Organisation, a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) at Begoro in the Fanteakwa District, has instituted a health insurance scheme for its members. The chairman of the organization, Mr Kwaku Antwi, told the Ghana News Agency at Begoro on Wednesday, that the CBO took the initiative in response to the government's call for public patronage of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). He said so far, 232 people had registered with the CBO and contributing 30,000 cedis per member annually as premium for the scheme. Mr Antwi said the organization would start disbursing funds to pay for the medical treatment of its members at the Begoro District Hospital as from May, this year, when it would have been a year old and would have realized a total premium of 6,960,000 million cedis. He commended the government for instituting the NHIS and urged the public to patronize it for improved health care.
