Sefwi Osei-Kojokrom (WR), Nov. 5, GNA - The Sefwi-Osei-Kojokrom Collection Point of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), has for the first time in five years exceeded its revenue target by more than 100 per cent.

The Base Commander, Chief Collector David Y. Binyam, who disclosed this to GNA at Sefwi Osei-Kojokrom, attributed the achievement to hard work and vigilance by the CEPS officials to halt smuggling of cocoa and other produce.

He said this during a visit to the area by Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, who was on a three-day working tour of the District.

Chief Collector Binyam said that government's increase in the price of cocoa to GHC200.00 per bag as well as collaboration with authorities of Cote d' Ivoire also contributed to the success story. Mr Aidoo commended the CEPS officials for their feat and asked them to work harder and be extra vigilant to prevent smuggling and the infiltration of aliens into the country. The Regional Minister was accompanied on the tour by the District Chief Executive for Juaboso, Mr Michael Bampong, Member of Parliament for Bia, and Mr David Yaro, Chief Director of the Western Regional Coordinating Council.
