Members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association in the Northern Region have backed the decision by their colleagues in the Eastern Region to embark on an industrial action if their leaders do not come out with the progress report on their premium.

The Eastern regional branch threatened its strike on Friday March 29, 2013.

The aggrieved branches have expressed concerns about the apparent in-action on their premium.

The Northern Regional President of CLOGSAG, Ali Anafu told XYZ NEWS in an interview on Friday March 29, 2013 that they have not received any positive response from their national headquarters.

“We were asked to resume work when we last embarked on strike with the decision that we were going for arbitration at the national labour commiosn but nothing had been done up to now," he complained.

Mr Anafo said the Northern regional branch will go on strike after the Easter Celebrations.

The CLOGSAG strike threat follows similar threats by several other unions including the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and the Government Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA).

Their agitations follow President John Mahama’s intervention and resolution of strikes by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) a few days earlier.
