COCOBOD presents computers to six Senior High Schools

Accra, Nov. 8, GNA- The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) on Thursday presented 30 computers with 6 printers to six Senior High Schools in the Greater Accra Region.

The schools are Nungua Senior High School, St. John's Grammar School, Osu Presbyterian High School, La Presbyterian High School and Ghanata Senior High School at Dodowa.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dasebre Akuamoah Boateng, Chairman, Board of Directors of COCOBOD said as part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations, the COCOBOD had decided to present 500 computers and 100 printers valued at over one billion cedis to 100 Senior High Schools nationwide.

The computers, he said would enhance the education of Information Technology in the Second Cycle Institutions.

The Board Chairman said since the inception of the Board in 1947, it had contributed immensely to the development of manpower in the country.

"The construction of Akuafo Hall for the University of Ghana and the sponsorship of 7,500 students yearly in the Second Cycle Institutions through the COCOBOD Farmers Scholarship attest to these facts", he added.

Mrs. Gloria Laryea, Headmistress of St. John Grammar School on behalf of all the Heads of the six institutions expressed her appreciation to the COCOBOD for the kind gesture. 08 Nov. 07
