CPP elects Officers for two constituencies

Akosombo (E/R), Aug 28, GNA- The Eastern Region branch of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has elected new officers to steer the affairs of the party in the Yilo Krobo and Asuogyaman constituencies. At Asuogyaman the 11-member executive has Mr Kwabena Odame as Chairman with Charles Akoto as Vice, Michael Obeng Osei, Secretary, Mr Godfred Oppong, Youth Organiser and Ms Favour Ladonu, as the Women's Organiser.

The Acting Regional Chairman of the party, Nana Owusu Sekyere, appealed to Ghanaians to return the CPP to power for it to continue the good work of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

At Somanya, the 10 officers include Mr John Lawson as its Chairman with Mr E.K. Oboadey, as the vice Chairman, Mr Koranteng Korsina, Secretary, and Ms Vida Sekyi as the Women's Organiser.

A former member of Parliament in the Limman administration, Mr Kwadwo Oboadey, who is also with the party, appealed to all Nkrumaists to "stand up and be counted", since CPP is the only party that can redeem Ghana from the present economic mess. 28 Aug. 03
