Cadets urged to combine discipline with academic knowledge

Breman Essiam (C/R), July 12, GNA - Cadet Cops and Youth organisations have been advised to combine discipline with academic excellence for a successful future career.

Mr Asuo Ababio, Assistant Director of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Education Directorate who gave the advice at the inauguration of Breman Essiam Presby Military Cade Cop, said physical training and body building helped people's immune system to fight against diseases.

Mr Ababio urged the Cadets to be more serious with their academic work since that was the only way to make them reach greater heights.

Mr Mohammed Damba, Deputy Coordinating Director of the District who stood in for the District Chief Executive, Mr Peter Light Koomson was full of praise for the founding fathers and called on the youth not to make their training a nine-day wonder but to strive to gain admission into the nation's security services after they had completed Senior High School.

Mr Damba presented GH¢50.00 to the cadets.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr David Kojo Amenyah said apart from the cadet course the school had also put in place a "School Health Club" and appealed to parents to bear with the school authorities since their training and activities of the club took place after the normal school hours.

He appealed to the National Disaster Management Organisation, the District Assembly, traditional rulers and other philanthropists to come to the aid of the school to re-roof their classroom block which had been ripped off as a result of rainstorm.

The Parade Reviewing Officer, Chief Inspector Peter Kwame Dzemeki in his remarks called on the general public to eschew parochial interests and sentiments, ill feelings and other divisive tendencies that bred antagonism.

Chief Inspector Dzemeki also called on the cadets not to give the school authorities any cause to regret having put their trust in them, adding that, 93Your turnout this morning has been very commendable; be more disciplined and let the sky be your limit".

The cadet squad made of 15 boys and 20 girls was established with the initiative of Mr William Hallm Koomson a staff of the school.
