As part of Ghana’s 55th Independence anniversary celebrations, the Children's Service Ministry of the Calvary Apostolic Revival Church (CARC) has presented assorted items to the Children's ward of the La General Hospital in Accra.

The items worth GHC 1,000, comprises 2 boxes of key soap, disinfectants, mops, bedspread, mosquito repellents, toilet rolls and clothing.

The La Mantse, Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru II, who assisted in the presentation with the Chairman of CARC, Rev. Ishmael Anum-Sai, said the gesture formed part of the church's social responsibility to the community.

He assured the hospital that his outfit will liaise with government to refurbish the entire hospital and give it a general face-lift to cater for the growing demands.

Nii Tsuru, who was recently elevated as the paramount chief of La, appealed to nurses and doctors at the hospital to treat patients kindly to save more lives.

He called for fairness in the electoral process to consolidate the peace and Ghana's nascent democracy.

The Chairman of the CARC, Rev. Ishmael Anum-Sai said the church will continue to offer help to the needy and under-privileged in society in fulfillment of the gospel.

He said the church will not concentrate on the spiritual needs of society alone but also material and physical needs, which is needed for its entire well-being.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, a Senior Nursing Officer (SNO) at the hospital, Madam Helena Acquah expressed gratitude to the church for training the children to grow into responsible adults.

She said there were a lot of wayward children who do not have guardians to care for them and urged society to exhibit love to such unfortunate kids.

Madam Agquah called on other benevolent organizations to come to the aid of children who are in need.
