A six-day capacity building workshop for 50 members of the Dormaa branch of the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers (NABH) has ended at Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The workshop, which focused on customer care and entrepreneurship development, was to upgrade cordial relationships between the participants and their clients while providing them with tools to improve their performance.
It was organised by the Dormaa Municipal Secretariat of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) and financed by the Skills Development Fund.
Mr Gordon Kwaku Asubonteng, Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive, addressing the participants commended the Association for its contribution towards the development in the Municipality.
Mr Isaac Odonkor, Executive Director of Growth Foundation, an organisation with expertise in skills development training, urged the private sector to pay attention to the skills development needs of their employees.
Mr Daniel Sena Tsorme, Dormaa Municipal BAC Co-ordinator, said 402 business associations applied to gain access to funds in 2012 but only 20 of them were selected.
He commended the leadership of the Association for their commitment to upgrade the skills of its members.
Ms Agnes Owusu Serwaa, President of the Association, expressed optimism that the training would offer members the skills to impact positively on their profession.
