Cape Coast, May 27, GNA- The Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast on Friday inaugurated an 11-member technical and advisory communication team to help promote and enhance evangelisation of the Gospel in the region.
The team is made up of professionals like journalists, communication consultants, photographers, cameramen and radio presenters. The Reverend Fr. James Myers, Vicar General, of the Archdiocese, who inaugurated the team on behalf of Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson archbishop of Cape Coast at a ceremony in Cape Coast , called on members of the team to be innovative and evolve strategies that would make the archdiocese more vibrant in its evangelisation of the Gospel. He said the team was the first of its kind to be established to assist the communication office of the church to put forward its vision, goals and mission. He mentioned reaching every home and touching every life with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ as well as to inform and transform people with the liberating message of the gospel and also promote the gospel values of the message of Jesus Christ as the vision, goal and mission of the team urged the members to work towards achieving them.
Fr. Myers in this regard urged the team to bring their expertise to bear in the church, so as to enhance its growth and development and hinted that they would soon be called on upon to help in the education of the public on the Cardinal's foundation for distance learning which would soon be launched in the region. Rev Fr Francis Valentine Odoom, Archdiocese Communication Officer, thanked the Archdiocese for the confidence reposed in the team and promised that they would live up to expectation, adding that the Archdiocese had 34 parishes and rectories and everything would be to reach out to them with the Gospel. Mr. Emmanuel Quarm an animator of the team, on behalf of the team pledged to work hard to enhance evangelisation of the Gospel in the region and beyond.
