Cape Coast Metro celebrates National Service week

Mr Charles Smith, President of Central Region National Service Persons’ Association (NASPA) has admonished his colleagues to brace themselves towards the challenging job market prevailing in the country.

He said currently there are fewer jobs in the system, coupled with government’s freeze on employment, therefore the national service persons should create employment for themselves as their duty to the country ended on July 31.

Mr Smith, also the President of the Cape Coast Metropolitan NASPA challenged his colleagues to explore the various job opportunities to help reduce the burden on the government.

He was speaking at a special football gala match played over the weekend as part of activities to mark the week-long celebrations of NASPA in Cape Coast to officially end their mandatory one year of national service.

The National Service year comes to an official close by the end of August, but personnel are given a one-month leave.
