"Cape Coasters" React To Quality Grain Ruling"

The sentencing to various terms of imprisonment of two ex-Ministers of State and a former Director by the FTC in Accra has degenerated into heated debates and arguments among a large section of the population of Cape Coast.

Whereas some people have hailed the judgment as a real test of rule of law of zero tolerance for corruption, others saw the whole trial as an exercise in selective Justice and a politically motivated one, which sought to make the NDC very unpopular before the eyes of both Ghanaians and foreigners.

A second year student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Mr. Ebenezar Ato, indicated that the trial and the subsequent conviction of the three, were simply unfair, since they acted on behalf of the state and above all the project was a viable one which could have turned the fortunes of not only Ghanaians but also people in other parts of the world.
