Cash Point Platform, a non- governmental organisation has donated food items to Cherubs Children's Home, an orphanage located at Santasi Apire in the Ashanti region.

Assorted food items donated worth GH? 2,000 included bags of rice, assorted soft drinks, cooking oil, toiletries, bag of sugar, detergents among others.

The presentation of the items was a replication of an earlier donation made by the NGO at Kumasi Children's home in the month of April 2018.

Speaking to this medium in an exclusive interview, the Chief Executive Officer for Cash Point Platform Madam Idah Opoku indicated that the donation was an expression of their readiness to support highly deprived individuals within the Ghanaian society and beyond.

The formation of the organisation she underlined was brought about after the leadership had given a careful look to the skyrocketing rate in the number of neglected children who are totally out of touch with support from the well to dos in Ghana.

She lamented that scores of Ghanaian children most of whom are victims of the consequences of broken homes, death of relatives, parental negligence etcetera have been ignored in their deprived conditions and left to struggle for survival in life.

Due to the decline on the part of institutions and individuals to reach out to them by offering the needed support, most of them in their bid to make a living have involved themselves in a lot of social vices.

Issues related to streetism among children and juvenile delinquency can only be fought at if their needs are addressed.

She noted that the leadership of the NGO has projected to put up a home in the next two years where street children will be shelters and accommodated.
