Burial took place last Saturday at the Methodist Cemetery for the late Madam Jemima Sey alias Aunt Ekua Oteeba, after a burial service at the Wesley Methodist Church.
She was 120.
According to a short history given by the family, Madam Sey, when she was a young girl, was among those who worked on the construction of the Mount Zion Methodist Church at Apam in 1907.
The family said Madam Sey became a petty trader at Apam before she travelled to Nigeria with her late husband, Nana Kweku Otabil VIII, Chief of Gomoa Abrekum and Adontehene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area.
The husband was employed by the British as the Chief Accountant of the United African Company (UAC) in the eastern part of Nigeria.
Back to Apam in the Gold Coast in 1949, she resorted to the petty trading.
The centenarian died on November 30, 2015.
