Agona Swedru, Sept 15, GNA - The Central Regional branch of Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) has started an exercise to check drivers who use licenses B1 and B2 to drive commercial vehicles.
Nana Yaw Fayah, the Central Regional Chairman of the Association who said this at a meeting with the Greater Accra Regional branch Chairman of the association, said the action was to reduce reckless driving and other traffic offences. Private drivers use licenses B1 and B2 and Nana Fayah said stationmasters had been asked to take action against commercial drivers who use such licenses.
Anyone caught would either not be allowed to load or he would be fined 100,000 cedis. Mr Amoabeng Peprah, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of PROTOA, advised drivers against over speeding and overloading.
