Embattled self-styled chief of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Abor Yamoah, who recently had his name deleted from the National House of Chiefs Register, has been dealt another blow by another credible and respected chieftaincy institution.

This time, the Central Regional House of Chiefs has given their backing to the action taken by the National House of chiefs, insisting that Nana Abor Yamoah II was never a legitimate chief in the first place.

In what could be described as demeaning revelations, the Central Regional House of Chiefs went ahead to give vivid accounts of the alleged fraudulent processes that led to the purported enstoolement of Nana Abor Yamoah. The damning revelations were contained in a statement signed by Enoch Addo, the Deputy Regional Registrar, which was released on October 1st, 2014.

Under the heading, the particulars of fraud, the statement of the Central Regional House of Chiefs revealed that the Research Committee of the Central Regional House of Chiefs allegedly met and processed Nana Abor Yamoah II’s form on the 14th of August, 2007 ten days before judgment in the matter pending before the Judicial Committee of Gomoa Akyeampin Traditional Council, which was between Abor Yamoah’s faction and the legitimate chiefs and elders of Gomoa Fetteh.

“Again the Central Regional House of Chiefs allegedly met and approved the forms on the 3rd of September 1997 and allegedly processed and forwarded same to the National House of Chiefs on the 4th September 1997, which is very unusual,” the statement revealed.

It added that, after forwarding the forms to the National House of Chiefs, the Central Regional House of Chiefs wrote to the National House of Chiefs to suspend the processing of the forms and subsequent entry of Nana Abor Yamoah II’s name in the Register because of the appeal before the Regional House of Chiefs.

According to the statement, the National House of Chiefs though approved the form on the 20th of July 1999, suspended the entry of Nana Abor Yamoah II’s name in the National Register because there was a resolution by the chiefs of the Traditional Council “derecognizing” him.(Abor Yamoah)

The statement further revealed that the then Registrar of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, based on a newspaper publication, wrote to the National House of Chiefs to enter the name of Nana Abor Yamoah and the same was entered, but the original date of approval by the National House of Chiefs, which was 20 July, 1999 was maintained.

The statement therefore concluded that the processes leading to the purported enstoolement of Nana Abor Yamoah II were illegal and fraudulent. “The above clearly shows that the process leading to the registration of Nana Abor Yamoah II was fraudulently done; hence the deletion,” the statement said.

REFERENCE It will be recalled that the decision by the National House of Chiefs to delete the name of Nana Abor Yamoah II from the National Register, follows a ruling by a Winneba High Court presided over by Justice Adjei Wilson, instructing the National House of Chiefs to strike out the name of Nana Abor Yamoah from the its Register, since he was not properly enstooled as chief.

“I also direct that within 28 days from the date of this ruling the National House of Chiefs sets down a schedule for the determination of the entry of the Name of Nana Abor Yamoah II in the Registrar of the National House Chiefs” , the judge ordered in his ruling.

The Winneba High Court based its decision on the fact that, Nana Abor Yamoah popularly known in his private life as Edward Acquaye who was formerly an Accountant of Johnsonwax mosquito coil producers of raid mosquito coil, was not properly gazzeted and that his name was fraudulently entered into the Register of the National of House of Chiefs. The ruling was dated 10th June, 2014.

It should also be noted that, the ongoing tension and chaos at Gomoa Fetteh and its environs which includes part of Kasoa, Budumburam and Fetteh Kakraba where the recent murderer of Nana Kwame Okyere Pantu, the Abusuapanyin and Omankrado of Gomoa fetteh and Fetteh Kakraba respectively occurred is emanated from the act of Nana Abor Yamoah, the destooled chief and his cohorts.

Reliable information reaching this newspaper indicate that, the destooled self-styled chief Nana Abor Yamoah is still going round holding himself as the chief of the town disregarding the court order and the actions of the authoritative chieftaincy body like the National house of chiefs and the Regional house of chiefs.
