Part of Kejetia Market was thrown into chaos, wailing, and curses after some trading groups reportedly clashed over trading spaces on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

According to the traders, the space was sold to them by the operations manager at the facility, Nana Poku.

They claim he also sold the same space to other traders, leading to a heated argument.

One of the traders (name withheld) revealed in an interview with OTEC News reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng that Mr. Poku took GH¢10,000 for two spaces, each having 0.8 square meters.

The traders said that after paying the money, he ordered them to pay an extra amount of GH¢4,924 at a bank for the official receipt, which they declined.

They said the operations manager has since gone after them to evict them out of the very space for which he took huge sums of money.

The latest move, according to the traders, was Mr. Poku selling the space to another trading group, leading to a fight among the traders.

They vowed not to vacate the space until their money was refunded to them.

The operations manager, Nana Poku, however, denied selling space to the traders.

He revealed that some unscrupulous individuals are using his name to extort money from the traders.
