Obuasi, Sept 18, GNA - Mr George Kofi Impraim, an Obuasi resident working in the USA and Rev Faith Link of Stanton Reformed Church in New Jersey, USA, have donated items worth over six million cedis to the Adullam Orphanage at Obuasi.
The items included diapers, clothing, used bags and shoes and feeding bottles.
The orphanage now had a total of 187 inmates including a week-old abandoned child.
Rev Mrs Timothy said the items, especially the diapers, would check infections and rashes on the children. Rev Link said the scene they saw during their last visit to the orphanage motivated them to mobilise the items for the children. "I will not forget the orphanage and we will continue to support them."
Mr Impraim, who has opened a new basic school at the Pomposo community near Obuasi, said in the near future the school would adopt some of the children and provide them with free quality basic education. Miss Lisa Hash, also from the USA who was at the orphanage for the first time, said she would come back again to support the children with clothing.
Reverend (Mrs) Louisa Timothy, the Executive Director and founder of the orphanage, received the items and appealed for more assistance for the orphanage.
