Accra, Oct. 14, GNA - The Chief Justice, Mr George Kingsley Acquah on Thursday appealed to philanthropists to assist the Judiciary in its quest to stock the Library of the Judiciary to enable Judges and staff of the Judicial Service to improve on their knowledge.

He made the appeal when he received law books valued at 5,000 dollars donated by Professor Justice Tawa Modibo Ocran, a Justice of the Supreme Court, in Accra.

He said the books, which included those on tort, evidence, criminal, civil and procedure would be used for references. Prof. Justice Ocran said he made the presentation because the Judicial Library was under-resourced.

He said he organised some publishers in the US and solicited the items from them. He has also donated similar books to other institutions, including the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghana, Legon.
