Ayomso (B/A), June 24, GNA- Oyeeman Appiah Kubi, Chief of Ayomso in Brong Ahafo has called on the government to create a separate Ministry for chieftaincy affairs to speed up the settlement of chieftaincy-related disputes. The chief told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Ayomso in Asunafo district that though the national house of chiefs had the mandate to resolve such disputes, it was apparent that the mandate had not been able to exert the desired impact on disputes. Oyeeman Appiah Kubi said chiefs considered themselves autonomous and therefore had taken entrenched positions, making it absolutely difficult for any third party to effectively mediate for peace.
