Chief donates to Akim Kusi schools

Nana Ahenkorah Amponsah I, an Akwamuhene, has presented three schools in the Kwaebibrem District of the Eastern Region with sporting kits worth GH¢1,200.

The schools; Grace Preparatory, Presbyterian Junior High and Methodist Junior High Schools, all at Akim Kusi received three sets of jerseys, six footballs and other playing kits.

Nana Amponsah, who is also a Belgium-based businessman, said that plans had been developed to explore avenues that would help ensure more development projects in the area.

He said he had already provided 30 bags of cement for blocks to be moulded towards the construction of a community library estimated at GH¢8,000 adding that, he would also stock it with books, computers and other reading materials.

He said since “education brings progress and development”, he would contribute his quota to improve the fallen standard of education in the town adding that, quality childhood education is fundamental to the holistic development of children, saying, “I want to ensure that school-going children become productive, have confidence in themselves and achieve total academic excellence”.

Nana Amponsah said projects embarked upon would be funded through his own resources and supported by his overseas partners.

He appealed to government and other philanthropists to provide more development projects to Akim Kusi to help enhance the living standards of the people.**
