Yefri (B/A), June 3, GNA - Okoforobour Osei-Bonsu, 11, Chief of Yefri in Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo, has offered a scholarship to Miss Naomi Damoah, a 28-year-old woman to study at the Yefriman Secondary School.

Miss Damoah, from Boabeng in the District, decided to go back to school after giving birth to three children.

The chief, who is founder of the school, said his gesture was in appreciation of Miss Damoah's efforts and determination to go back to school after dropping out to marry.

He expressed the hope that the offer would encourage her to take her education seriously and urged other girls and women who had stopped school because of pregnancy to emulate Miss Damoah and re-enrol. Miss Damoah expressed gratitude to Nana Osei Bonsu for his gesture and wished him God's blessings, guidance and success to be able to continue to assist the needy.

Nana Osei Bonsu explained that he founded the school to help students in the area who could not attend secondary school in far away towns.

The school has more than 100 students and runs general arts and business programmes.

The chief plans to construct a new block of six classrooms for the admission of more students in the next academic year.
