Wenchi (B/A), Sept 13, GNA - Oseadeeyo Abrefa Kwadwo Nketiah VII, Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, has launched a tree planting campaign in all the communities to boost the national forestation programme.
In line with the programme, he has bought 1,000 tree seedlings to be supplied to traditional rulers and opinion leaders of the 53 communities under his jurisdiction for planting at the outskirts of their towns.
Oseadeeyo Abrefa told the GNA in an interview that he would buy litterbins to be placed at vantage points at Wenchi. He deplored the poor state of roads in Wenchi and said efforts were being made to rehabilitate them. The chief said some farmlands would be allocated to all the divisional chiefs in the area to organize the people to cultivate cash crops. 13 Sept 06
