Bonkwaso Number One (Ash), Sept. 29, GNA - Nana Kwabena Tenten II, chief of Bonkwaso Number One, near Kunsu in the Ahafo Ano South District of Ashanti is alleged to be selling portions of a 10-hectare land earmaked for the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's school project in the town.

Mr Kwabena Badu, a citizen of the town, who made this known to Ghana News Agency at Bonkwaso recently said, attempts to stop the chief from selling the land had proved futile.

He said the Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), unit committee and other stake holders including the chief had on two occasions failed to respond to invitations extended to them by the District Executive and the District Director of Education to attend meetings to trash out the matter.

Mr Badu said all attempts to stop the chief from selling the land had proved futile and therefore, appealed to the district assembly and the Ghana Education Service (GES) to stop the chief from further sale of the land to ensure that there was no difficulty, when the project takes off.

When Nana Kwabena Tenten was contacted, he denied encroaching on any part of the land demarcated for the Otumfuo project, saying, the land is intact.

He, however, admitted encroaching upon a part of the land belonging to the Local Authority Primary and Junior Secondary schools, claiming that he did not know the boundaries of the land, especially those for public projects.
