Ensurogya Kwakye Arhin Darboah the Eighteenth, Chief of Gomoa Nduame in the Gomoa West District, has urged his subjects to bury their differences in the interest of the development and growth of the area.
Ensurogya Darboah who is also Abakomahen of the Akyempim Traditional Area, made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at a gathering of chiefs and elders of the town to celebrate his sixth anniversary as chief of the town.
He said the occasion was a home-coming event, to rally behind him to purify the black stool of the town, settle all squabbles, take stock of the previous year’s activities, and formulate strategies to forge ahead as one people with a common destiny to develop the area.
Ensurogya Darboah said when he ascended the throne in 2009, there were several family and chieftaincy disputes, and that the town's position at the Akyempim Traditional Council was also been suspended.
He said he had managed to settle all disputes, and that their position at the traditional council had been restored, adding that these were some of the successes he had chalked.
He said as part of the celebration, they would organize a harvest to generate funds towards the construction of a permanent market, and to extend electricity to other areas.
The chief appealed to the Gomoa West Assembly and other philanthropists to come to their aid.
He entreated his subjects to visit home periodically, and use their rich expertise to support the execution of projects and programmes, without waiting until festivals and funerals before coming home.
