Chiefs and people of Trabuom honour MP

Trabuom (Ash), Sept 10, GNA - The chiefs and people of Trabuom in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District have commended Dr Matthew Antwi, Member of Parliament for Atwima-Kwanwoma, for his creditable performance.

They have named a community center being constructed after him. Nana Asoma Karikari, Trabuomhene, said this at the commissioning of two toilets built at the cost of 160 million cedis by the MP from his share of the MPs Common Fund.

The chief stressed the need for MPs to give attention to the basic needs of communities in their constituencies to enable them win the confidence of the electorate who voted them to Parliament.

Dr Antwi, who commissioned the project, gave the assurance that he would continue to address the needs of the communities.

He presented 1.3 million cedis from his share of the common fund to the community to buy electric bulbs for the toilets and building materials worth 10 million cedis for completion of the community center. Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, appealed to the people to co-operate with the district assembly in the development of the area by paying their levies promptly.
