Aputuogya (Ash), July 30, GNA - Mrs Gladys Asamani, Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Director of Education, has called on traditional rulers and landowners to support efforts by educational authorities to prevent the encroachment of school lands. She expressed regret that lands reserved for the expansion of school buildings and other facilities to enhance education were being encroached upon.
Mrs Asamani was speaking at a district durbar of Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD), Kindergarten Week celebration, under the theme: "ECCD, Kindergarten-The Best Foundation for Education", at Aputuogya on Friday.
She called on parents, churches, assembly members and other stakeholders in the education sector to collaborate with schools to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning.
Mrs Asamani urged parents to give their children proper training and to invest in their education to enable them to acquire knowledge skills and required for national development.
Madam Joyce Forget, a Ghanaian resident in France, said education was the best legacy parents could bequeath to their children and commended teachers for playing a positive role in national development.
Mr Francis Baffour Awuah, the District ECCD Co-ordinator, called on individuals, organisations and the Government to collaborate efforts to promote early childhood development since it formed the foundation for educational development.
