Sunyani (B/A), Dec. 27 GNA - Deserving youth from the 10 assemblies of the Sunyani Area Church of Pentecost, who took part in a special religious competition organised by the Church were presented with their prizes on Sunday, December 25. The award winners were examined in Bible Knowledge and the History of the church. The competitors were grouped in categories of those under the age of six, between seven and 10 years, others aged from 10 to 12 years and those between 12 and 13 years.
Master Bernard Boateng Yeboah of Sarfo Assembly emerged the best in Bible knowledge competition for the under-six, followed by Master Emmanuel Osei Owusu also of Sarfo Assembly and Miss Emmanuela Afi Naah of Good News Assembly. In the seven to 10 years group, Miss Charity Gyan of Maclean Assembly emerged first, Dorah Aflah, Sarfo Assembly, second and Portia Amankonaah of Maclean Assembly, third. Prince Opoku Mensah of Meredane Assembly came first in the 10-12 years' group, followed by Miss Irene Agyapomaa, Mmeredane Assembly and Miss Salormey Afful of Emmanuel Assembly.
In the history of the Church competition, Miss Bernice Boamah of Maranatha Assembly took the first position in the under-six group, Miss Martha Naa Afum of Kassardjan Assembly took the second position, followed by Master George Mensah Bonsu of Ebenezer Assembly. Miss Irene Yamoah of Good News Assembly stood tall in the seven to nine years' group, followed by Miss Christabel Obeng and Miss Abigail Takyiwaah, both of Mmeredane. In the 10 to under 12 years category, Endurance Ansu Kusi of Good News Assembly came first while Masters Emmanuel Ofori Yeboah of Zongo Assembly and Sarfo Boampong of Mmeredane Assembly tied for the second position. Children above 12 years to 13 years group competed only in the Church history and Master Randy Sampene of Good News Assembly placed first, Duke Opoku Mensah of Mmeredane, second while Miss Esther Siaw of Zongo Assembly and Miss Esther Nyantakyi also tied for the third position.
