Apam (C/R) March 27, GNA-Christians have been told to be mindful of Christ's Mission on the earth as they celebrate Easter and practice love, preach peace and reconciliation through repentance and forgiveness.
They should let humility, obedience and sacrifice be their watchword and dedicate their lives to the development of the nation. Rev. Stephen Kaitoo, Spiritual Head and District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in-charge of Winneba and Gomoa districts made the call when addressing about 2000 faithful from thirty-one communities in the two districts at a four-day Easter convention on the theme: "The power of god," at Apam.
He said salvation would elude mankind if they feel ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, which is the power of God.
Rev. Kaitoo said the four-day convention would rekindle the youth, local leaders, women's ministries, marriage and HIV/AIDS counsellors spiritually to win more souls for Christ.
Later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Rev. Kaitoo commended the Bawjiase Area Rural Bank for supporting the credit union of the church financially that had made it possible for members to improve upon their businesses.
Rev. Fred Otoo Mensah in-charge of Youth development of the church said religious and moral education set up in all the churches are achieving their aims and objectives.
Mrs. Jemima Frimpong, President of women's ministries of the church said 28 organized women's groups, including farmers have started literacy classes to learn reading and writing.
According to her, they are yet to contact the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) of the Ministry of Education for the expanded course.
