Ho, Dec. 20,GNA- The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) is organising a food bazaar in the Volta Region, to facilitate shopping for the Christmas festivities.
The three -day bazaar, which opens at 0900 hours to 1700 hours on December 22, closes at 1700 hours each day.
A notice circulated by the Regional Office of MOFA listed items to be on sale as yam; rice; maize; vegetables; palm fruits; plantain, cassava and oranges.
The rest are vegetable oil, fish, poultry and poultry products and other livestock products.
A similar bazaar organised last year attracted farmers, food marketers and poultry farmers from all over the Region.
Meanwhile with some four days to the Christmas on Saturday, business activity in the otherwise quiet metropolis has picked up with rare scenes of traffic hold ups around the Central Market even on non-market days.
The consensus among traders was that sales were picking up too sluggishly while shoppers though conceding that prices had been stable for months complain about lack of money to meet their demands.
