Gomoa-Ekuamkrom (C/R), May 26, GNA - The Leader of the Akim-Akroso based Christ Faith Church (CFC), Prophet J. K. Tawiah, has threatened to sack members of the National Executive Council (NEC) for ignoring his orders to amend the Constitution of the Church.

This was announced by Nai Kwao Otuo V, Chairman of the Council, at an extra-ordinary meeting at Gomoa-Ekuamkrom, near Agona Swedru, the second within 30 days.

A couple of months ago, Prophet Tawiah wrote to the Council, ordering it to amend certain provisions of the Constitution, but it refused since it would undermine the efficient administration of the Church.

Nai Kwao Otuo stated that provisions the leader wanted amended included, the periodic assessment of the Church=92s revenue, transfer of Pastors, inventory of properties and the appointment of his successor.

The NEC Chairman called on members of the Church to remain steadfast to the 93divine guidelines and principles of the Church=94 and described accountability as a 93master key=94 for the efficient operation of any organisation.

Nai Kwao Otuo maintained they must ensure proper transformation of the CFC without intimidation and threats to enable the leaders to meet the aspirations of its followers to propagate Christianity.

He urged the members to pray for the orderly administration and growth of the Church.

In a resolution, the Council advised Prophet Tawiah to nullify the appointment of his son, Mr. K. Affram, as the next Spiritual Head of the Church

It described the appointment as a total violation of the CFC=92s Constitution and advised the Leader to stop treating all revenue and property of the Church as his bona fide and to allow the NEC to operate an official banking account.

The NEC explained that these would enable the Church to initiate and implement projects to support national reconstruction efforts.

The members expressed regret that although the General Assembly had directed that 20 percent of the Church revenue should be deposited in the official account, Prophet Tawiah had failed to comply.
