Church constructs borehole water for Taifa Community

Accra, July 10, GNA - Professor Mike Ocquaye, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya on Saturday commissioned a GH¢9,500 borehole water project at Taifa with a call on Churches to step up developmental work to help empower members and communities as a whole.

Prof. Ocquaye noted that during the life of Jesus Christ on earth, he catered for the spiritual and physical needs of the people, hence the need for Churches to continue with that example so they could win more souls.

The borehole, which is to provide free potable water to Taifa Community, is funded by the First African Baptist Church, Virginia, USA, in collaboration with Charismatic Baptist Church (CBC) Taifa, Accra.

Taifa Community for over two decades has not seen water running through pipe lines hence people in the area had sought to the drilling of boreholes.

A bucket, gallon or bowl of water depending on the size is sold between GH¢5.0 to GH¢20 in the area.

Congratulating the Church for embarking on the water project, Prof. Ocquaye implored the Church to continue to work more to ensure that the welfare of it members and the community was enhanced.
