Obuasi (Ash), Feb 23, GNA- The Living Word Assemblies of God Church at Obuasi-Anyinam on Sunday donated an 80 million-cedis self-contained three-bedroom house to the wife and two children of its late pastor.

The late Reverend David K. Amponsah died late last year after a short illness.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at the presentation ceremony, Major P.Y. Antwi-Asante (rtd), the Operations Director of the church, said the donation formed part of the resettlement package the church had instituted for the late pastor's wife and children.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Obuasi district pastor of the Church, the Reverend Emmanuel Kwame Anane, said the donation signified the concern the church had for the late pastor and his family. Mr Kwamena Sekyi-Yorke, the secretary of the church, noted that the donation would remain a landmark in the history of the Assemblies of God Church in Ghana.

A senior pastor of the church, the Rev C.O. Danquah on behalf of the pastor's wife, Mrs Theresa Amponsah and the children, congratulated the Obuasi-Anyinam church for the gesture. He prayed that God would bless the church and its members to enable them to continue to show love for the needy.
