Church of Pentecost donates to two Orphanages

Odupong-Ofankor(C/R), Sept. 19, GNA - Members of the Dansoman Area Children's Movement of the Church of Pentecost have presented items worth 10 million cedis and 2.5 million cedis cash to inmates of Good Shepherd Orphanage at Odupong-Ofankor and Jei-Krodua Orphans Home, in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District.

They included bales of used clothing, seven bags of rice, three bags of sugar, fruits, loaves of bread and a 25-inch colour Television set.

Reverend Daniel Opoku-Kissi, Area Leader of the Movement and Pastor in-charge of Kasoa North District of the Church said the presentation was for the children to show their love to their less privileged brothers and sisters.

He said the Church had selected three children from the Movement who excelled in this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for sponsorship to Senior Secondary Schools. Bishop Kweku Addae, Founder of Great Word of God Church and Proprietor of Good Shepherd Orphanage at Odupong-Ofankor appealed to corporate bodies, companies, individuals and organizations to assist the inmates.

He said the orphanage had 64 inmates and seven attendants. Mr Joseph Class-Peters, Coordinator of Jei-Krodua Orphanage, expressed appreciation to the Church and appealed for assistance to the upkeep of the inmates.

He said the orphanage had 30 inmates made up of 19 boys and 11 girls aged between three months and 10 years.
