Church opens new chapel

Odumase (B/A), April 26, GNA - Dr David Opare, Sunyani Municipal Health Director on Saturday commended the Inner City and Africa Ministries (ICAM) for supporting government effort of rendering quality health delivery to the people.

He was speaking at the official opening of a 400-million cedi chapel building for ICAM at Odumase in the Sunyani Municipality.

He said ICAM is not only in the country to seek for a spiritual well-being of the people but to also ensure that the physical needs of the people are fulfilled. He stressed that ICAM is the only health clinic in the Brong Ahafo Region, which provides free transportation to patients who attend the clinic for health care and also transport them back to their various houses.

He urged other religious organisations to emulate ICAM by seeking the welfare of the people.

Nana Abena Boatemaa, Queenmother of Odumase Number One, on behalf of her people expressed their appreciation to ICAM for the good services they are rendering to the people of Odumase and the nation as a whole.

Nana Boatemaa said the clinic and the chapel on the land of Odumase is an honour given them and hope it would serve its purpose. She urged all to support ICAM in good faith so that it could bring into existence its vision to the benefit of the nation. Dr Chester Williams, Executive Director of ICAM, said ICAM is a global missionary faith community church comprises of partners from different Christian persuasions around the country.

He said ICAM embraces First Century Apostolic doctrines on the deity of Christ, his birth, death, resurrection and second coming.

He said ICAM with it's three years establishment in Sunyani has made a lot of impact on the people and now has a membership of about 200 people.

He said it embarks on teaching, preaching the gospel on radio broadcasts, in villages and colleges. He thanked the chiefs and people of the 38 acres of land given to them and stated that ICAM intended to build a primary school, office and a global training institute to train pastors and missionaries. Mr Adjei Darko, Member of Parliament for Sunyani West donated 20 electric poles to ICAM for the extension of electricity to the area. April 26 05
