Winneba (C/R) March 27 GNA - The Emmanuel Light Church on Saturday presented items costing 34.2 million cedis to an organized youth needy group at Yepemso, a suburb of Winneba to facilitate their acquisition of vocational and computer skills.

The items, including four computers and accessories, three sewing machines, a dryer, a scanner, a photocopier and three printers, were presented following an appeal for assistance by the group to the Church. Presenting the items on behalf of the Church, Pastor Emmanuel Ehuntem advised the youth in the area to join the group and acquire vocational skills for their future development.

Yepemso is a fishing community with high poverty rate, which makes it very difficult for most parents to send their children to gain vocational skills.

He quoted from First John Chapter 2 verses 15-17 which urged "mankind not to love material gains since it could lead them to evil". Pastor Ehuntem urged the youth in the area to abstain from pre-marital sex to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS pandemic that is spreading fast to every corner of the country.

Miss Lydia Yarney, a senior apprentice of the group who received the items on behalf of the group thanked the church for their kind gesture and urged other philanthropists to emulate the church.
