May 10, GNA-The Men's Fellowship of the East-Ghana Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, is working hard to establish a big fish farming project at Sogakope in the Volta Region. Land for the 30,000 Ghana Cedis project has already been acquired. The Head of the East-Ghana Conference of the Church, Reverend Charles Gbagbo, Bishop's Administrative Assistant, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Winneba at the weekend. Rev. Gbagbo said the Church has established more than 50 basic schools in the East-Ghana Conference operational area. He said that, in addition to this, the Church has established two Senior High Schools and a Vocational Training Institute in the Volta Region to promote education. Rev. Gbagbo said that plans are underway to improve the infrastructural conditions of the oldest training college established by the Church in the Volta Region in 1937. He called for assistance from individuals, organizations and the Government to supplement their efforts at improving the lot of the people in the area through the establishments of the planned fish farm and educational institutions in the area. Rev. Gbagbo said that, the establishment of the fish farm would provide employment opportunities for jobless school leavers in the area.
