Reliable information picked up by the Republic Newspaper indicates that the once thriving den of sex workers at the Kwame Nkrumah circle near the ill-fated Goil fuel station in Accra have been relocated to the popular Obra Spot and around Busy Internet.

The sex workers are said to have fled their former joint after the June 3 devastating flood and fire swept through their location, killing about 150 people, including three (3) sex workers and destroyed items worth millions of Ghana cedis.

As at press time, brisk sex business is said to have resumed at the new locations.

The new locations are well known places in Accra and are noted to be busy places with lots of businesses and movement of people from all walks of lives.

A 20 year old sex worker, Maa Adjoa from Kumasi, who spoke with our reporter disclosed that their relocation is as a result of them losing 3 sex workers on June 3, 2015.

According to her, the disaster has affected their business massively as customers no longer patronize their services for fear of unforeseen disaster in the course of their frolicking with the “Ladies of the Night".

“The relocation was necessary because we are really scared. As my sister indicated, we lost 3 of our friends and this was because, as at the time it started raining, most of us were at home. Most of us would have perished if we were out by then”, another sex worker, Sarah, added.

According to her, the sex workers are yet to come to terms with the June 3rd incident because they are still in shock.

“Honestly, the incident is the first of its kind. We still can’t believe 3 of our members were in that disaster and are dead and gone, whatever happens, life must still go on”, they added regrettably.

Alfred Amuah and Prince Yeboah, survivors of the incident, both dealers of second hand shoes opposite the Goil filling station expressed the same sentiment.

According to them, Circle is now tagged as a death zone, and they are with the hope that things will bounce back to normal in a couple of months.
