Circuit Supervisors asked to increase enrolment

Begoro (E/R), April 2, GNA - The Fanteakwa District Director of Education, Mr Stephen Peter-Andoh, has asked Circuit Supervisors of schools to mount school enrolment drives in their circuits. He noted that many parents were still ignorant of the of the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) programme.

Mr Peter- Andoh said this when he addressed Circuit Supervisors at the Districts Education Office at Begoro, on Friday. He asked them to co-operate with head teachers to educate parents on the programme to send their children to school.

Mr Peter-Andoh asked them to intensify supervision of schools to help raise the standard of education in the district.

The Assistant Director of Education in-charge of Supervision, Mr Mike Ernest Ansah Yeboah, said the Directorate was liasing with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), "Book of Hope" to supply basic school pupils in the district with storybooks to inculcate the habit of reading in them.
